Wedding and Special Event Favor Tips from NV Me Gifts

Planning your wedding or event has so many intricate details. Choosing and ordering your favors usually don’t make top priority on the list.  Here are a few simple tips to make this task less stressful.

Choosing your favors…. No matter how simple or extravagant, your favor is expected by your guests. It’s your way of saying Thank you to them for taking time to share your day. Think whether you want to tie it into the theme of your event (beach theme, rustic & vintage, glamorous, etc.), something practical (cheese & knife set, salad set, mail opener, etc.) or maybe compliment the colors of your theme (burlap bag filled with candy or coffee beans… vintage, bowls or plates come in an array of colors… elegant, gold or rhinestone accent frames or candles… glamorous). Whichever you choose, it should be a reflection of you.

Next… order your favors! You don’t want to order your favors too late. There is time needed for processing and shipping. Personalized items may take a little longer, as well. On the flip side, you don’t want to order them too soon. They will just sit around, with the chance of being knocked around and moved from here to there, and, possibly getting broken. With timing in mind, you want to order your favors about 2 months before the event.

Ordering the right amount of favors… While it might seem an added expense, ordering a few extra favors is the smart thing to do. You never know if a surprise guest(s) will show up. You may get gifts after the wedding or event that you would like to give a favor in return. Usually, you give 1 favor per couple or 1 favor per single guest. Having to re-order more favors after the fact may result in extra shipping charges and possibly having to meet a minimum quantity for your order.

Wrapping and presentation of your favors... There’s nothing like the “ooh” and “ahh” when your guests receive their favor. The presentation is just as important as the favor itself.  Using a wrapping service may seem pricey. Take into consideration the cost of wrapping paper, ribbons, any embellishments you might want to add for that special touch, and, lastly, but, most importantly, your time it will take to wrap each of your favors.

I hope these tips were helpful. NV Me Gifts offers exquisite favors of the utmost quality, as well as, wrapping services to make that lasting impression of your event. You will be the “NV” of your guests!

It's All About the Wrap! Favor Presentation Ideas

It’s All About the Wrap!

So you picked the perfect favor but you’re not sure how to wrap it…this is where I come in.  While throwing something in a bag with some tissue paper is quick and easy, there’s something to be said about spending a little extra time to wrap your gifts the old-fashioned way.

There are so many choices when choosing materials. For instance:

A traditional paper wrap (solids or patterns) can be your base, while the ribbon(s), can be layered to create an elegant look. Adding a rhinestone brooch or jewelry, even a silk flower or butterfly will transform your presentation into something special.

My favorite is fabric wrap. Silk, organza or tulle work beautifully, especially, with those odd shaped boxes and wine bottles. Choose accent ribbon, tassels, beads to make your wrap pop. For a really fun event, you can even use bandanas!

Cellophane bags! These are great to let your guests have a peek at their favor. Adding a ribbon or tulle stripe outside the bag and tied with ribbon dresses up the cellophane bag.
Burlap bags… printed or not, are perfect for that rustic themed event. They can be filled with candy, chocolates or coffee beans, whatever YOU like!

Embossed boxes come in a variety of shapes, sizes and designs. No wrap needed with these tasteful boxes, just add a ribbon, and your favors are ready.

Presentation of your favors is just as important as the favor itself. So, whether you decide to wrap your favors yourself or have a service do it for you, remember... It’s All About the Wrap!

Favors on a Budget

Favors on a Budget

Wedding favors are a special custom that goes beyond tradition -- they're a way to thank your guests for being part of your wedding day, and to enhance your wedding theme. While many luxe wedding favors are available, you don't have to break the bank to give your guests a memento of your special day.
Inexpensive wedding favors are available in many categories. Here are some of the most popular wedding favors your guests will enjoy.

Edible favors. Who doesn't love a sweet treat? If your budget is extremely tight, consider affordable candy, such as M&Ms, jellybeans, pillow mints, or Jordan almonds, wrapped in tulle, a fancy favor box, a fabric bag, or even a clear cellophane bag tied with a pretty ribbon.
You can even give homemade cookies from family traditions. Coffee beans in a burlap pouch is another idea.

Photo favors. Photo frames are a great way to keep your wedding on your guests' mind long after your wedding has passed. They can play double-duty, as the place card holder and the favor.
Candles. You could give a votive candle wrapped in tulle, a favor box or a cellophane bag, wrapped with pretty ribbon.

Wine Favors

Wine Favors

Many couples consider offering personalized bottles of wine or champagne as their wedding favor. These wine bottle favors work perfectly for an unforgettable wedding reception.

You can create an amazing reception table décor using wine bottle wedding favors. You can include these wine bottles on each reception table, with personalized labels of the bride and groom elegantly printed along with your wedding date. These wine bottles should be used by the guests who are seated at the table to toast in the honor of the newly married couple. You can also have a separate display table of your personalized wine bottles for each couple to take as they leave, as your wedding favor.
When choosing the right wine you should take into account the season the wedding takes place. If your wedding is scheduled in the fall you should definitely choose a delicious Merlot or a rich flavored Cabernet Sauvignon. A personalized label with a beautiful fall landscape along with some leaves and ripe berries attached directly to the bottle will definitely turn the bottle into a stylish wedding favor. If the event takes place in the spring or summer you should go for a fruity White Zinfandel or a fresh and crisp Chardonnay. The labels for these wine bottles should feature a gorgeous floral motif. You can also add an elegant satin wrap to distinguish them on the favor display table.

Try choosing your wine from local vineyards for that added personal touch.
